about boiling point games

Boiling Point Games was founded by Joe Pinhasov, founder, owner, and lead game designer, with a simple goal: to create games that are fun to play, memorable to experience, and worth bringing back to the table again and again.

Our journey began with an idea that would eventually become Ready Set Fight. It started as a novel, but the story, characters, and world quickly sparked the idea for a tabletop fighting game. Five chapters into writing the story, Joe shifted from writing fiction to designing the first version of what would become Ready Set Fight.

He spent more than a year developing and refining that original design. There were plenty of ideas he loved, but something still didn’t feel quite right. The excitement rose and fell throughout the game, and Joe wanted the experience to stay engaging from beginning to end. Every turn needed to matter. Every decision needed to feel meaningful. Every game needed to leave players wanting one more round.

After returning from his honeymoon, inspiration struck in an unexpected way. An idea centered around full-course meals evolved into What’s On The Menu?, our first published game. That project became an invaluable learning experience, not only in game design, but also in manufacturing, publishing, and the process of bringing a game from concept to players’ tables.

With those lessons in hand, Joe returned to Ready Set Fight and rebuilt it from the ground up. He kept what worked, removed what didn’t, and refined the game around one core idea: consistent fun backed by meaningful strategy.

The goal was to create a game where players could feel the thrill of a hard-earned victory, the satisfaction of making the right call at the perfect moment, and even after a loss, immediately think about what they could have done differently before jumping back in.

As more friends, family members, play testers, and convention attendees experienced the games, one thing became clear: people were having fun. They were laughing, competing, talking about memorable moments, and asking to play again. That response gave us the confidence to share these experiences with a wider audience.

That is how Boiling Point Games has taken shape.

The name Boiling Point Games reflects the feeling we love seeing around the table: focus, anticipation, excitement, determination, and the thrill of making the play that changes everything.

Whether it is a laugh-out-loud moment with friends or a close competitive battle, those are the experiences that turn a game into a memory.

Today, Boiling Point Games is more than one person. We work alongside talented artists, designers, marketing partners, manufacturers, retailers, content creators, and community members who help bring our games to life.

Fun, quality, replayability, player interaction, and respect for players’ time are at the heart of everything we create. We know every player has different tastes, and we think that is a good thing. No game can be everything to everyone, so our approach is simple: we make the kinds of games we would be excited to play ourselves, then invite others to join us at the table.

We believe great games should be easy to learn, quick to set up, and rewarding to master. Some of our games are standalone titles, while others are part of a growing shared universe that spans multiple games and genres. For us, fun always comes first. We start by building the most engaging and replayable experience possible, then develop the stories, characters, and world around the gameplay to give each title its own personality.

Whether you are sharing a laugh with friends, making a clutch play, or celebrating a hard-earned win, our goal is to create games players remember long after the night is over.

At Boiling Point Games, we want to win your trust, earn a place in your game night rotation, and always keep you coming back for one more game.

Surrounding the plate are a fork, knife, and spoon, with some food crumbs, a cockroach, and some spilled red sauce or juice nearby, indicating a messy or creepy dining scene. There is also a logo in the bottom right corner that reads 'Lurking Games'.
